Andaneset
Enjoy Voldsfjorden with a view

Andaneset is a lovely place for every season
Andaneset is a gem just outside of the city centre of Volda. The area is easily accessible by walking or cycling. Here you can meet a rich animal life, sit down and enjoy the views on one of the benches, or prove that you are a real Norwegian and jump into the fjord from the platform. After the freezing bath, you can heat up in the sauna.
The sauna at Andaneset is an old dynamite storage, which was used mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, but has been renovated into a sauna. Volda municipality owns the sauna, and everyone who wants to can rent the sauna for 300,- NOK. The sauna opened in 2021.
Be sure that you have enough time before you rent the sauna. It needs one to two hours just to get hot, and then you’re able to use it for another one to two hours.
Right by the parking lot at Andaneset, the road is closed and you are unable to go any further by car. It is however possible to cross by foot or bicycle. This road is the old road from Austefjorden to Volda, but it was replaced by the tunnel through Rotsethornet, Rotsethorntunnelen. If you follow this road, you will eventually arrive at Grevsneset, where materials are made from the rocks of Rotsethornet.
