Volda Stadion, a place for the football-lovers. Here you can visit matches as a spectator on different levels, and play football yourself – you can even sign up for the team and play semi-professional football yourself.
Volda stadium is located in close proximity to the lake of Volda, Rotetvatnet, and is the home arena for VTI Fotball's teams. The stadium itself belongs to Sunnmøre Fotballkrets. The facility consists of a main arena with an artificial grass surface with floodlights, grandstand seating for approx. 2,000 spectators and a roof superstructure. There is also a B-arena with international goals and floodlights, a seven-a-side pitch, as well as a training field with a gravel surface. Volda TI Fotball built, owns and operates the facility. The attendance record is approx. 5,000 and was set in a 3rd division match against Ørsta IL in 1988. The A-teams in Volda, both the men and women, play in the national third division in Norway.
The development of Volda Stadium started with the grass pitch at the main arena, which opened in 1956. This was later expanded with running tracks for athletics and a training field with gravel surface. In the 1980s, the facility was expanded with a clubhouse and stands. In 2001, the training field was covered with artificial turf and around the same time a new training field with a gravel surface was put into use. In 2007, the old main area with a natural grass surface was converted to an artificial turf surface with space for an electric track and a seven-a-side track. The former athletics facility was thus redeveloped after it had not been used for many years. In 2010, parts of the grandstand were roofed over and at the same time plastic chairs were installed.
In 2014, Volda Stadium was expanded when the football hall Mørehallen was opened at the stadium. Mørehallen is an insulated seven-a-side hall for football, built in steel and covered with artificial grass.
